which is exactly what happened with Obama during the Obama-McCain debate. Everbody expected McCain to trounce Obama during the foreign policy part. It wasn't an absolute thrashing, but (i feel) he still bettered Obama. But nevertheless--whammo!--an Obama victory!

I too am excited for Thursday night...honestly, I feel like the expectations are so low for SP after her fumbling interview w/ Kitty Couric and overall inaccessibility, that a moderately lackluster performance will be seen by some as a success.

Agreed, regardless of what she says there's probably a fairly large contingent of folks who will vote for her b/c she's like someone they know.

my take is that Ohio will again have the most narrow of margins, like 2004, and likely let McCain squeak by.

I think Palin may have disappointed some potential voters in the last week with a lackluster and conflicted response to some foreign policy questions, but I think her presence on the ticket still activates more potential voters than anybody has been able to count. I'm anxious for the debate Thursday night--it's possible more people will tune into that debate than last Friday's debate.

Okay, this one isn't my fault... I specifically chose the "politics" category this time.
