Obama’s My Pet Goat Moment

September 25th, 2008

Obama still pressing for McCain to join in the debate.

“The American people deserve to hear directly from myself and Sen. McCain about how we intend to lead our country,” Obama said. “The times are too serious to put our campaign on hold, or to ignore the full range of issues that the next president will face.”

And they are witnessing in real time how McCain would lead in a real life crisis.  Fix the problem in Washington, then get back to Ole Miss when there’s a compromise.   Obama’s response: if they “need me, they’ll call me.”

Well, Senator, if they don’t need you now, why would they need you later?

Of course there’s not any one person from my estimation to blame…probably a dozen or more major factors that contribute to the clusterfuck. My point was JM’s presence or BO’s ‘absence’ had little to no impact on the ‘solution’ at this point. To be perfectly honest, I feel very ignorant in trying to gather a solid grasp on this situation which makes me very anxious as at best those in the know are guestimating at the benefits of the solution and long term issues…

Yeah, maybe he should have talked it up more. Then you would have criticized him for talking about such a charged issue during the debate. You know you would. Just curious, why are you ridiculing someone who had a relatively normal response to an extraordinary circumstance?

Should nobody be blamed or carry any responsibility for this mess? Tell me what you think. Or do you not even have an opinion, only trying to rattle my cage?

That is all very obvious of who’s shoulders this mess will rest…I didn’t realize McCain’s presence and insight today significantly helped to determine the solution. He shoulda talked that up tonight. Guess I missed that elsewhere…my bad.

One of these two men will be president, but only one wanted to be there for the big meeting.

As much as you want to call it politically motivated, the reality is one of them will have the job of unfucking this mess. Obama claims “no more business as usual in DC” but appears to have wanted to let his buddies — many of which were directly responsible for this– to come up with a solution on his behalf.

    But hey, who cares, right?

C’mon man…how’s it not phoning it in when dicussions have been happening all week and your boy strolls in in the 11th hour to provide his ‘sage’ insight on Friday . Or was the motivation duplicitously twofold to addtionally catch a few candids to show off that sweet maverick side?

Are you allowed to play in the big Friday night game if you’ve not been at practice all week?

the page you linked to is now down the memory hole (curious use of an index page by CNN).

maybe they’ve ditched it because of this clarification by ABC.

How stupid, this idea of McCain & Obama should stay aloof & not inject politics. Dealmaking is political! Politics is dealmaking! Both are current Senators and need to represent, not call it in.

Actually John, you’re in the way here…I think we’ve taken enough photos of you ‘helping’ to find a resolution…quit trying to turn this into a political advantage and go stand over there next to Barry and get ready for your debate.
