“Panic Time” by Baghdad Bob, and other delusory utterances

    August 29, 2008

“There are no America troops in Baghdad”There is no experience in this Palin” and other disses against McCain’s VP pick:

[Chuck Schumer] -”Certainly the choice of Palin puts to rest any argument about inexperience on the Democratic team and while Palin is a fine person, her lack of experience makes the thought of her assuming the presidency troubling.”

The Obama campaign also told CNN Friday the choice of Palin takes the question of experience “off the table.”

    Compelling, and rich.  More:

“Experience is being taken off the table considering you’re putting someone within a heartbeat of the presidency with the thinnest foreign policy experience in history,” spokesman Bill Burton said.

Update: Rep. Rahm Emanuel, the 4th ranking House Democrat, said in a statement the choice of Palin “shows political panic.”

“Is this really who the Republican Party wants to be one heartbeat away from the Presidency? Given Sarah Palin’s lack of experience on every front and on nearly every issue, this Vice Presidential pick doesn’t show judgment: it shows political panic,” he said.

Apparently “panic time” means whenever the right can unify its base. Yes indeed, Congressman, it might be time to start paying close attention.

It was a hoot hearing how Obama’s superior judgement was more important than his (minimal) experience.  It’s even funnier now, hearing that he’s got so much experience that Palin’s pales in comparison.  What specific experience did Obama gain by campaigning for the last 18 months?

When 2012 comes around, Obama will have six years of experience in the Senate (of which 3 years spent campaigning) and Palin will have four years as the Vice President of the United States.

McCain choosing Stiffler’s mom as running mate?

    August 29, 2008

You can’t believe any reports at this stage but McCain may be tagging a milf to run alongside as VP.  Heh, Milfhunter.

But if he’s choosing Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to exploit the Messiah’s treatment of Hillary, I think it will be a mistake.  Hillary is sooo, like, Wednesday night.  That was TWO days ago.

    Factcheck.org silent on Bill Ayers

    August 28, 2008

Although they mentioned the linkage briefly earlier this year, they seem to be ignoring the biggest controversy of the post-Hillary election campaign.  Probably because of the whole Annenberg money thing.

A street battle in the Obamaoist heartland

    August 28, 2008

There are some festering concerns with the Ayers-Obama relationship that are even troubling the Nader left.

One man against a call-in brigade of “concerned citizen” propagandists.

Obama’s most extensive organizational experience seems to have been garnered in the maoist incubator that was the Chicago public school reform scene (see ‘Who “Sent” Obama?’).

CNN Money raining on economic news that hasn’t even been released yet

    August 27, 2008

The first revision for 2Q08 GDP won’t come until tomorrow morning, but that doesn’t stop the naybobs from a little premature deprecation. Some seem to think the rate would be revised updward by damn near a full point. I’m not so sure, but if there are indeed such systemic problems with the economy, wouldn’t the rate be revised downward?

I guess we wait and see

    Apple & Obama’s fortunes intertwined?

    August 27, 2008

The similarities are interesting. Recent events punch through Apple’s reality distortion field as Obama suffers hit after hit.

When–ever — does the product live up to the hype?

    I can’t say I blame him

    August 27, 2008

Obama and Bill Clinton maybe too alike, but why would Obama want Bill campaigning for him?  Maybe he cannot name a single, major election where Clinton provided a winning advantage by lending his services.

    The consequences of honest discourse

    August 26, 2008

Michael Totten’s website subject to a massive DoS attack soon after his last post accusing Russia of instigating the recent military action.

Meanwhile, the Obama campaign is ‘fighting back’ against “smears” by threatening TV station owners who run anti-Obama ads.

The critiques are apparently a little too close to the truth.

Senator Biden? Your Wikipedia entry is filthy. Let’s clean it up a bit, shall we?

    August 24, 2008

Scrubbing the net clean. . .  Consigning Biden’s previous praise for McCain to the memory hole.

This is information warfare at its highest level.

    Obiden

    August 24, 2008

    From AOSHQ:

Biden jogs out doing that hey-man pointing-thing. He reminds me of Larry Sanders bashfully high-fiving the audience because the network told him he had to.

Five bonus points for the first Larry Sanders’ reference, says Hank Kingsley.

    Biden?

    August 23, 2008

My first reaction to the text message I received from the Obama camp in the middle of the night was, yep, there’s a hint of panic demonstrated in the choice of VP. The “all your cookies are ours” invincibility of the early Obama campaign seems to have deteriorated rather dramatically into plug-the-dike hedging against the loss of any more moderate swing votes.

My sense is that it won’t be enough.

    “Saving the Mahoning Valley”

    August 22, 2008

Is GM getting ready to manufacture a small car in northeast Ohio that will be exported en masse to global markets?  The stars may be so aligned. . .

This news is nice for a couple of reasons:  1) An American company not only preserving some manufacturing jobs, but exporting durable goods.  2) GM, baby!  Give’m some props.

Although there will be some thrifty models offered, the deal would be sweeter for mpg-crazy American buyers if the Feds would just exempt GM’s eurospec diesel from stingy US emission regulations.  Imagine that, a simple bureaucratic maneuver that would instantly give American consumers more choices.

Edwards unsure how many affairs he’s had

    August 21, 2008

Another one? NYT reportedly working on another alleged John Edwards dalliance.  Why now, and not then, this sudden rush to be first?  Were Dems intending a political resurrection for a post-scandal Edwards this fall? There was that sanitizing 911 call by Rielle earlier this month. . .

Obama unsure how many disadvantaged youths he’s adopted

    August 21, 2008

That would be NONE. How silly can this get?

IIRC, there was plenty of ‘confusion’ about a certain land deal the Obamas made with a now-convicted felon.

How many properties did John Kerry Tereehhzaa Heinz-Kerry own, but were off limits? A lot too.

How many children does Obama have serving in the military in Iraq?

Saying stupid things to stupid people

    August 21, 2008

It’s still the same old story, told to the same adoring crowds of “open minded” supporters (and a few mythical Obamacons!). ‘We were attacked on 9/11 by Islamic zealots and we responded by. . . invading Iraq and chasing Saddam Hussein around a secret network of spiderholes.’ What a terrible example America has set–Russia now thinks it can do the same.

Russia’s incursion into Georgia closely parallels the actions the international community took against Hussein since 1990. Wait, dumbass, no it didn’t. It’s not even like that confusing affair in Kosovo, as the Ruskies claim. And Putin didn’t appear to have been stalled the least bit by corrupted allies and a disinformation regime funded by Georgian strategists giddy on the silly money leaking from unenforceable UN transfers.

So, yeah, keep making the morally equivalent jabs. It really seems to be working.

    More ‘christianist conservatism’ from Sullivan

    August 20, 2008

“Sullyboat” Sullivan SWEARS McCain received some good, ol’ fashioned habeus corpus at the Hanoi Hilton, but lacks the moral stones to denounce it today.

Poor McCain. He still thinks the wrong side won the war in Vietnam.

The truth, Andrew, you’ve become the Gorgeous George Galloway of the anybody-but-McCain Left.

Laying the groundwork for Obama-as-underdog by November

    August 19, 2008

Prepare for the onslaught of polls showing Obama dragging behind a resurgent McCain. Which will lead to all sorts of underdog cheerleading by an “impartial” national press.

*update* No better way to guarantee your underdog position than to appoint Joe Biden as your VP! It’s almost as if they’re trying to lose. . .

No, actually, your candidate really might not have been as prepared

    August 18, 2008

Obama camp suggests McCain might have cheated during the forum with Rick Warren.  It’s now geting to the stage of accusatory paranoia every time Obama Inc is caught underachieving.

Some say McCain is peaking too early (perhaps), but it seems an awful lot like Obama wants to morph into an underdog.
