The sludge report…continued

July 28th, 2006

And here’s where a small fraction of those record energy profits go…funding the few remaining skeptical climate change scientists. It’s the same old story repeated over and over…industry claims they cause no harm, then industry pays scientists to pick apart research showing their harm, then industry claims that until we are really sure of what exactly is happening it’s best to do nothing (because the fate of the economy is threatened by taking action against their wrongs), finally after years of wasted time and opportunity the weight of the evidence forces industry to change their practices and then SHOCK, the forecasted economic ruin never materializes. Lead in gasoline, DDT, cigarettes, auto emissions regulations, CFC limits…it all follows the same pattern. Right now it’s climate change and carbon dioxide. Who knows what will next?

I think I already saw your post on Ralph Nader’s site. Or was it Dennis Kucinich’s blog?

    BTW, leaded gasoline TASTES better.
