House Speaker Hastert under investigation: ABC
May 25, 2006
What exactly is going on here?
Many congressmen are under the microscope–Was there a legit lead here or is ABC being really creative?
*** 6/2/2006 - Perhaps creative was the answer, as Newsbusters points out.
Fixed some bugs. . .
May 21, 2006
Since the last site upgrade (two weeks ago), there have been a few bugs scattered around the site. I believe I’ve caught them all, but let me know if you find something else that doesn’t work.
Carbon Dioxide: “We Call It Life”
May 19, 2006
I haven’t been here in awhile but this is too good to pass up. It’s unbelievably sad that these ads will probably influence some people. So everyone in Dayton and Denver keep your eyes glued to the television to get an exclusive look at the “truth” (as brought to you by one of your friendly corporate-funded, non-partisan organizations who just wants you to have the real truth about the scientific issues. Now you can safely ignore the lies and deception propagated by all of those wacko, liberal scientists and academics who say such scary things).

A realistic post-mortem on Galbraith by Sullivan. JKG’s lingering influence continues to impair otherwise intelligent discussion.
Shhh…the President’s listening
May 11, 2006
So the claim is that tens of millions of Americans phone calls are being cataloged? The Pres. said they are only tracking Al Qaeda and Co? That’s a lot of terrorists running around w/in our borders. That would make them a large portion of our minority population in the US…somebody better call Terrible Ted.
David Blaine in ‘pretty bad shape’
May 8, 2006
God, this is tedious. But luckily for David, his PR people are in good form! Phew! They’re doing their best to (breathlessly) let us know that despite excruciating pain and “peeling skin”, David will be able to — just barely — pull this stupid stunt off.
This headline has been plastered all over the AP drip sites and is impossible to ignore. Now, I’m compelled to tune in and see how David will turn this impending tragedy into a spectacular feat of mind over body.
David Blaine says he’s in “pretty bad shape” as he nears the end of his latest feat — a week in an aquarium — but vowed to go through with his finale of holding his breath underwater for nearly 9 minutes.
Oohh-wee this is gonna be a nailbiter!

Lawmaker drives golf cart to State House to save on gas
May 3, 2006
(Columbia-AP) May 2, 2006 - State Representative Todd Rutherford has found a way to fight higher gas prices.
The Columbia Democrat uses his new golf cart to go from his home to the State House, as well as his downtown office and courthouses.
State law allows residents to drive a golf cart on secondary roads within two miles of their home or office during daylight hours, as long as they obtain a $5 permit and insurance.
What about his safety? Where are the airbags? ;^)
People complain about the government not doing enough to mandate better mileage from vehicles. But NOBODY talks about the government mandating so much safety equipment on motor vehicles that even the lightest new cars are way over three thousand pounds. Let small manufacturers build golfcart-like cars en masse for short trips and watch our collective fuel consumption drop.
Follow this guy’s lead.
Iran: U.S. Threats are Violation of International Law
May 2, 2006
Iran says U.S. threats are a violation of International Law and urges the United Nations to take urgent action against what it called a dangerous violation of international law.
This from the country that said it “didn’t give a damn” about any possible sanctions from the U.N.! Why don’t they just go away and take their stupid duck planes with them?

I believe Iran poses a significant threat and is the ultimate (if unspoken) reason why we are in Iraq and Afghanistan but for God’s sake please stop publishing everything these psychopaths proclaim-it’s driving up speculative oil prices and serving these madmen nicely.
And, besides, North Korea makes more outlandish threats.
